There’s alos that interesting tidbit where “cracker” isn’t even an insult or a ‘bad thing.’ A “cracker” was the one who literally cracked the whip at the slaves. Being called a cracker is literally being called someone who has power. What a shit insult. Like, no one will be offended by what is essentially a compliment. Racism against white people: doesn’t exist.

It means someone who cracked the whip on another human being as if they were a goddamn animal. Someone who had enough hate in their heart who would whip another person to the point where they had gaping, bleeding wounds on their skin, sometimes until they were unrecognizable. Cracker doesn’t just mean power. It means someone who beat another human being as if it was for sport. It’s disgusting. It is not a compliment.

I’m not saying it’s a slur on the same level as other slurs, but it is not and never will be a compliment.
